Victoria’s Secret, better known for their lingerie range, also has an awesome line of fragrances too since the 1990s. Today, they’ve got over 300 varieties of perfumes and so, finding the right one for you might be a bit of a mammoth task. That’s what we did at The Fragrance Guide, we took some of their very best and tested them out so that you don’t have to. Reviewed here are some of the more popular Victoria’s Secret perfumes, and certain factors that make them stand out.
Best Victoria Secret Perfume
The first on this list has to be their best-seller, the Bombshell perfume. This is a fruity-floral scent composition that reflects the character of the brand, referring to it as their “LBD of fragrances’. The scent profile is intended to be strong and contains Vanilla Orchard, Purple Passion Fruit, and Shangri-La Peony.
- average fruity notes for all ages,
- not cloying
- not long-lasting
The Bombshell Eau de Parfum is the favorite out of the bunch and been re-released and revamped several times as its so popular. The notes of Vanilla Orchard, Purple Passion Fruit, and Shangri-La Peony are wonderfully blended, strong but not sweet. And in our opinion, only a few fragrances close to achieving this balance. It reminds us of the Incanto shine from Salvatore Ferragamo.
This scent profile, pleasant and fruity as it is, can be used by women of all ages and isn’t overpowering. Since it isn’t exactly a statement perfume, you can use it at any time of the day. Our only issue with it is that it doesn’t last long and does need reapplication on warmer days. If you’re okay with all of these things, then Bombshell is something you should try out sometime.
Heavenly is a warm, ethereal scent that even the models and VS love. It is a blend of Sandalwood, White Musk, White peony, and vanilla – so it is not too sweet or sugary either. It is one of their softer, milder blends and can be worn daily as it’s more on the mature side.
- light and pleasant,
- balanced fruity-floral notes
- on the mature side
- strong vanilla tones
If you’re looking for Victoria’s Secret bestseller that isn’t over the top or has an excess of fruity or floral notes, Heavenly is your choice. This has been selling out ever since its launch some years back and has even been revamped to keep up with tastes in fragrances as they change. Even though it has been reformulated to make it more appealing to a younger generation, which is VS prime perfume audience, Heavenly’s intrinsic tones have remained untouched.
The current version comes in this glass vase-like bottle with angel wings on the cap, with tiny crystals on it. Coming to the actual scent, it has this warm, sensual and elegant essence thanks to the Sandalwood, White Musk, White peony, and vanilla. It also falls into the musky side as well, owing to the musk and sandalwood that boost the longevity as well, something that Bombshell doesn’t have. This musky character makes it easier to wear too. The scent helps you to make a subtle impression and is better suited for teenagers and women.
The Love Spell perfume features aloe vera, cherry blossom, and chamomile and is meant to be a safe fragrance. It is a milder, fruity-floral scent that is hypnotic and vibrant that is brought out by the peach and cherry blossom.
- mild, light, fresh and summery
- for scent newbies
- not for people who like strong perfumes
- poor longevity
- easy to outgrow
‘Love Spell’ is the perfect name for this scent as its a combination of fresh, fruity, sweet and calming all in one.We got hints of jasmine, peach and cherry blossom all right and felt like it was a fruit salad. As mentioned above, we are reviewing the body mist that’s supposed to be light and complement the EDT. If you want a stronger concentration, the EDT would be your choice. It doesn’t last long and after a long day, the scent sort of lingers on.
Love Spell is great for a casual outing, concerts out in the country and warm summer’s days at the beach. Don’t expect to wear this without needing to reapply throughout the day. It is versatile though and translates well for most occasions.
The XO Victoria EDP has been described as having a free, effortless and wild spirit. It is a vibrant floral take of sun-kissed rose. Inspired by the kind of refreshing energy one associates with springtime surrounded by a garden of flowers in full bloom. Sparkling citrus notes give it that sunny feeling while woody warmth is added by the notes of English ivy. It is a mix of twilight orchid and Victoria rose that comes out better at night.
- smells fresh
- generic sweet feminine smell
- moderate lasting power
This smelled very fresh when first sprayed on and is somewhat similar to the Viva more fragrance from Selena Gomez. It is less grassy and much stronger though. It is a mix of powdery roses and green apples that make it very feminine but isn’t overwhelming at all.
Strong apple notes, with noticeable hints of woodsy ivy and the orchid and rose, are barely even there. The dry down is interestingly powdery and is moderate so you’re not overwhelmed at all but is still one of their strongest powdery offerings, besides Heavenly. It does stand out from super sweet perfumes that VS normally makes and is good in that way. Feels like a walk in a garden and is better for summery days.
We equate it to Versace Eros, but nearly as sweet as Eros; it is more like Versace’s Versense and Light Blue from Dolce and Gabbana. XO is predominantly apple with very little citrus.
A glamorous beach party by the sea in diamond-clad bikinis in St. Tropez is how VS sums up the Bombshell Paradise. Capturing a summer in paradise was possible by blending together powerful top notes of black currant and grapefruit. Next comes the lily of the valley accord that gives it that radiant woods and warmth of sunshine, the sun struck Pine note was essential for bringing in that breath of fresh air.
Price: $ 43.55
- moderate sillage,
- right for summer
- weak longevity or lasting power
- better strength on clothes not skin
We thought of adding this EDP here because it’s what buyers tend to go for when they can’t get the original Bombshell EDP. Bombshell Paradise is something you need to have once you’ve smelled it. Maybe two bottles as this EDP doesn’t have the lasting power we would like it to have. It is the kind of floral-fruity EDP that VS is known to create, but we have this say this one is stunning. We felt that it was woodsy, with a bit of a sweet, citrusy note. We could definitely get the black currant and grapefruit that gives Bombshell Paradise it is feminine, sweet, sporty character.
