Reviewed out here are some perfumes that are well-loved go-to’s and those meant for special occasions.
Best Perfumes for Teenage Girls
Fantasy by Britney Spears
This perfume launched in 2005 is a hot favourite with many teens. Packaged in a pink round bottle with Swarovski crystals on it, and comes in 50ml and 100ml bottles.Fantasy is a heavy gourmand and very sensual opening on notes of kiwi, golden quince and litchi. At the heart there is white chocolate and jasmine and the base is all woods, musk and orris root.
- heavy sillage
- long lasting
- heavy gourmand
We recommend this for teenage girls because of that sweet, bubbly nature that Britney Spears has given it using this unique blend. It is heavily gourmand but just a few sprays are good for the entire day – and one bottle might last for a while this way. The bottle is pretty too and makes for a great gift.
The scent is light, flirty, fresh and feminine, and definitely feels causal. It has the life and projection that one find in expensive perfumes. Fantasy really does smell like a cake dessert, and we got the kiwi and other fruitynotes too. The opening was slightly confusing as it was creamy and fruity at the same time, but it eventually settled down to a mix of both that wasn’t all that bad. It is strong in the sense that it lasts long but isn’t overpowering.
J’Adore by Christian Dior
J’Adoreis a Christian Dior classic that is loved by most teenagers as it’s modern, glamorous and has this luminous character. It is supposed to be a new kind of Christian Dior scent profile that’s sweet, balmy, has sharp florals and lots of fresh mandarin as a top notes. At the heart there is jasmine, orchid, plum, and rose and the base is blackberry, musk and amaranth.
- moderate sillage
- moderate to long lasting
- different variants
- refreshing floral
- better as a occasional gift
This one is for those who love florals and for us, is still one of the most sophisticated floral blends. It is a classic, can be worn day or night and suitable for all occassions. The sad part is that it has been reformulated and might not what it was, and in many cases won’t suit the wearer either. The good news is that there are other variations of Christian Dior’s J’Adore.
Black Opium by Yves Saint Laurent
Black opium is a glamorous yet edgy fragrance with mystery and energy. Packaged in a shiny black bottle, it is the ‘rock and roll’ version of an old classic from YSL. The significant feature of the perfume is the longevity based of the user’s skin type. The top notes are a very dominant coffee, along with vanilla, jasmine, orange blossom, pink pepper, cedar and patchouli. This perfume was the Allure Best of Beauty awards winner in 2015.
- It is an Oriental spicy perfume,
- has a long-lasting effect depending on skin type.
- Requires for than one spritz, overpowering scent for some
Black Opium is cotton candy with a hint of musk but it is nice, with the right strength, spice and musk and is strikingly similar to Paris Hilton’s first EDP or Valentino’s UOMO. Its lasts for a good two hours though, but on you clothes it becomes soft and laid back. Recommended for teenagers that love partying or need to go out somewhere, as it’s just about makes an impression but isn’t too loud – something that could be inappropriate for someone who is young.
Hippie Chic by True Religion
It is a fun and playful fragrance inspired by the rebellious era in America and the hippie movement. This fragrance is designed for carefree, daring and free spirited women. The top notes of the perfume consist of raspberry, Fuji apple and pomegranate. Jasmine, Lily and hibiscus make the heart and the base notes with woody note and musk.
- Available in 2 sizes
- has that rejuvenated
- refreshing feel
- floral scent,
- light and crisp
- Mild and average staying power
- requires reapplication
The packaging, scent profile all scream rebellious teenage girl! We do feel like it could have used some patchouli that was big in the sixties during the hippie movement. It is instead very floral and fruity and might fit the flower child persona, also from that era. The first sprays are sharp, and you can’t really tell the notes apart. Ten minutes later, and you have this wonderful cedar, floral and fruity mix that is a bit on the sour side. You can wear this in the summer.
Euphoria by Calvin Klein
It has the captivating fragrance which is luminous, luscious blend of frruit notes. Euphoria is composed out of dark exotic flowers and the notes are amber, black violet, black orhid, red woods, green leaves, lotus, rose hip and Japanese apple. Packaged in the stylish curvy bottle.
- Lighter and more subtle scent that’s every bit as creamy and exotic,
- rich accords too strong for class
- better for a night out
For people who like amber, anise in a very cosy, deep backdrop. It is warm, sensual, strong and has longevity because of this. This is better worn during the winters as the notes play out really well in the cold. Designed for women who are modern, sophisticated, strong and elegant. It is a lot like the Gucci Rush. The woody notes and pomegranate are very dominant, but the sweetness calms down as the scent begins drying out and should be worn in moderate amount as it could get cloying.
Yellow Diamond by Versace
Price: $ 177.00
Versace’s Yellow Diamond is part of the series of perfumes inspired by crystals. This one is made to be transparent, airy and pure floral with the same sparking intensity of a yellow diamond. It opens on the freshness of lemons, neroli, bergamot and pear sorbet. The heart has freesia, orange blossom, water lilly and mimosa and the base is musk, amber and guaiac wood.
It has a transparent and floral fragrance with top notes contains bergamot, neroli, lemon and pear sorbet. The heart consists water lily, freesia, mimosa and orange blossom and the base notes are of guaiac wood, amber and precious musk.
- pretty and mild scent,
- sweet citrusy smell is perfect for day wear
- bit of a skin scent,
- works better in winters,
- needs reapplication in summers
This perfume is very pretty from the packaging to the scent itself. Yellow Diamond is great for any teen year and can be worn to class, outside and daily. Floral citruses can be very strong, but here it is mild but still fresh and fresh. Perfect for use at summer weddings, summer days as it sits on or around you with just the right projection, without being too heavy and a few sprays should do.
