Best Marc Jacobs Perfumes
Marc Jacobs Daisy EDT spray
The Daisy EDT is a floral-woody and sparkly composition that is supposed to be fresh, feminine and light all at once. It has that seductive, sophisticated and dazzling persona but is as simple as possible. Daisy comes in a bottle decorated with these huge daisy flowers on them.
The fragrance starts out on some powerful strawberry notes, violet leaf, green aromas, pink grapefruit. The florals come out in the heart and are filled with that silky, intoxicating and warm gardenia, jasmine and faint violet. The dry down is powdery and is mostly musk, vanilla, and white woods. Marc Jacobs Daisy comes in the 50ml and 100ml bottles.
- light and powdery
- good for regular summer or office wear
- suitable for all ages
- not too sweet
- not much personality or performance
- average longevity
- bitter notes
Daisy is the most popular Marc Jacobs fragrance till date and has even spawned a number of iterations following the success of this EDT.We think that this perfume is the playful, feminine and the notes reflect that beautifully. The blend of notes of musk, violet, grapefruit, vanilla gardenia and jasmine might be sweet but adds that air of maturity and elegance to it.
For some reason, we got quite a few hints of citrus as well and that’s possible because of the grapefruit. This is a nice touch as it breaks up the florals. The dry down is pretty and pleasant too when it’s nice, musky and powdery. It sits on the skin for a good six to seven hours. So it’s easy to see why it’s a best-seller; Daisy is the perfect gift for your young, free-spirited teenage daughter or someone who is just getting used to scents. The simple composition makes it a great gift for any woman. In fact, there are a lot of older women who simply love Daisy!
Marc Jacobs Dot Eau De Parfum Spray
Dot is the next best option and what people settle for when they can’t get a hold of Daisy! The composition is supposed to be a cheerful take on petals or heavy florals and even comes in the bright, red polka dot glass flacon with a cap that resembles a ladybird sitting amongst flowers.Rich and decadent, the composition can best be described as fruity-floral, with lots of exotic coconut and vanilla notes.
The top notes are enticing and juicy and comprise of red berries and the pitaya or dragon fruit. The florals come in after this extravagant tropical prelude and arefull of orange blossom, jasmine, honeysuckle and eventually get softer with a base that is a little milder. Then it’s all about coconut, musk, driftwood, and vanilla. Marc Jacobs Dot comes in the 30ml, 50ml, and 100ml bottles.
- thin and clean fruity structure
- more of a skin scent
- average longevity,
- looks juvenile,
- very generic sweet and tropical scent
- very artificial florals in dry down
Dot is more on the fruity side than it is floral and this is definitely one of those scents you wear for the summers. The composition feels youthful, vibrant and soft and we got those notes of jasmine, dragon fruit, red berries, coconut, jasmine, and honeysuckle.
These notes only appear pungent on the outside, but this fragrance is anything but strong, or super sweet. Sure, you will get about 7 hours wear but the lightness of the Dot scent makes it versatile. It is better described as a tropical, juicy and clean aroma. On the first spray, we got the dragon fruit, red berries but also a lot of coconuts; and this last note went on till the dry down. While the fruits are more dominating in nature, the florals become stronger after a while with the honeysuckle and jasmine coming forward the most.
Marc Jacobs Honey Eau de Parfum Spray
Honey is described as a floral-fruity fragrance. The base notes are woodsy with some vanilla and honey and manage to keep everything grounded. While the heart notes are peach, honeysuckle and orange blossom. Honey gets its juiciness from thetop notes are where the punches like and is filled with pear and mandarin orange.
The composition only looks cloying but is very summery and airy. Honey comes in a yellow and white polka dot bottle with a gold cap and two butterfly accents.
suits all, very bright, sparkly and soapy scent, versatile
Honey feels more like a mix of soap, vanilla cream and soft lemons for some reason, but is still very dynamic and fresh. This is the kind of scent that can be used by anyone but it does start out with a very synthetic smell, in our opinion. This does die down after a while and it gets mellow, soft and smooth after that.
This is a wonderful, soft blend of honey and fruits that isn’t too sweet, loud or in your face. We think that it’s a good, a very subtle choice for teenagers and a younger crowd as it’s bubbly and fruity. The florals are too weak to break up this fruitiness and we barely got any whiffs of flowers at all.The orange blossom actually adds to fruitiness. As it begins drying down, this becomes more musky, clean and creamy and this is when you get that honey smell.
Marc Jacobs Lola By Marc Jacobs
Lola by Marc Jacobs came around in 2009 and includes pear, pink pepper, rose, peony, red grapefruit, tonka, creamy vanilla, rose and geranium in an interesting contrast. On one side, it’s this very pink and girly mix of warm musk and red fruit, making this aspect something new from Marc Jacobs and hasn’t been seen in their new launches.
Calling it feminine and floral isn’t fair to the structure of the scent. Lola is a mix of things, starting with this very retro glamour feel that’s just lightly veiled by this flowery, fruity accords.Lola is this sweet rose that is reminiscent of the vintage roses that are warm and powdery. Then it has this oriental quality, that adds a sensual twist to this floral element. Marc Jacobs Lola comes in the 30ml, 50ml, and 100ml bottles.
- floral and spicy accords
- lasting power
- versatile great for work
- feels more dull
- watery and fruity to some
The vanilla, powdery and spicy mix is somewhat close to the Lempicka’s Si Lolita EDT. It might be the pink pepper notes, and if you’re looking for a fragrance that has powdery vanilla and spicy combination, then this would your pick.Lola is rose-based and also has notes of grapefruit, pear along with the warmth of the pink pepper. We got a good amount of that rose, some peony, and an underlying blend of pepper and sweetness. Lola is underrated and has a very simple presentation.
